When my Grandmothers were born, at the turn of the last century, they ate differently than most of us do today.  Everything they ate was chemical free for a start, processed foods were limited and I'm pretty sure they had never even heard of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs).

Flash forward to today and most food on the shelves of our grocery stores is processed and full of GMOs, sodium, sulphates, unpronounceable chemicals, etc, etc.  If you are what you eat then we are in big trouble.

My goal is to eat more like my grandmothers.  I want to eat food that is fresh, real and chemical free. Here are my simple guidelines.

  • No GMO’s
  • Organic whenever possible
  • Limited processed food

The guidelines may be simple but following them is not always so easy.  I hope that writing this blog will help me to stay on the straight and narrow when it comes to real food.
